Splice is a fine fine movie. The press conference scene alone is worth the price of admission. I saw this with Margaret, who went to the bathroom during the press conference scene. After she got back, I tried to explain to her what she missed, but I’m not sure I did it justice. Sorry, Margaret. For what it’s worth, Margaret also liked the movie, even though she missed the best scene.

I empathize with Margaret, because when I saw Spider-Man 3, I went to the bathroom right before the Bruce Campbell scene, which everyone says is the best scene in the movie, but there’s no way I’m watching Spider-Man 3 again.

Margaret also wanted me to mention in my review that she predicted one of the movie’s twists so she is smart. She may be good at predicting plot points, but she is bad at predicting when’s a good time to go to the bathroom.

To summarize, I have compiled the following lists of the things Margaret is good at and bad at, which I hope to update accordingly for your continual edification.

Things Margaret is good at:

1. Predicting one of the surprises in Splice
2. Updating her twitter all the time for no reason
3. Having a job and being organized and just in general having her life together

Things Margaret is bad at:

1. Holding it in

Every year I keep a running tally and ranking of how much I like every movie I see because apparently I can’t just enjoy anything anymore:

1. How To Train Your Dragon
2. Greenberg
3. Mother and Child
4. Shutter Island
5. Please Give
6. Splice
7. Date Night
8. Iron Man 2
9. Kick-Ass
10. Sex and the City 2
11. Hot Tub Time Machine
12. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
